Jordi Alba keeps Barcelona's unbeaten run alive with late equalizer against Valencia

 It was a game between first and second - Rodrigo and Jordi Alba scored for Valencia and Barcelona respectively Barcelona kept their unbeaten run alive when a late Jordi Alba goal snatched a vital point for them away at the Mestalla against Valencia.

 Both teams went into the game with good form as a win for Barcelona will strengthen their hold on top stop while Valencia were looking to go one point behind Barca in the title race.

 It was the Blaugrana who looked better going forward in the first half and they had a large percentage of the ball with Valencia please to sit back and absolve all the pressure. Jordi Alba keeps Barcelona's unbeaten run going with a late equalizer Barcelona kept their unbeaten start to the season.

Valencia came out fired up in the second period and went ahead on the hour mark, with Goncalo Guedes slipping in Jose Gaya, who fired in a low cross for Rodrigo to convert at the near post. 

Barcelona struggled to create many chances to equalise until Messi chipped the ball over Valencia’s defence to Alba, who volleyed home with aplomb in the 82nd minute.

 Messi was also denied a goal in the first half after the goalkeeper fluffed his shot at first attempt but caught the ball after it had crossed the line. The linesman and referee however thought otherwise as many believe goal line technology should be introduced in the La Liga to prevent such case next time.

The result means Barcelona stay four points clear of Los Che and eight ahead of both Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid and kept their unbeaten start to the season.
